The agency that the factor represents seems to show a preference for larger lakes, and to a lesser extent for deeper samples. As far as L.O.I., and the organic matter it represents, is concerned this is in accordance with observations in lower latitudes.
Scores of Factor 7 show the least zonation of any of the seven, so the factor is unlikely to be related to geological, glacial or topographic causes. At present a more detailed and convincing interpretation has not been made.
