Although the behaviour of Cs does not conform to what is known of this element's role in mineralizing systems, the association of As and W is suggestive of a gold system. The highest Au values reported within this zone, albeit comprising a modest 12-19 ppb, form a well- defined anomaly centred on 69°5'N, 71°30'W. Within this latter zone values of up to 320 ppm Cu and up to 177 ppm Ni were also reported.

Factor scores do not display a significant correlation with sample depth or lake area; nor is a particular sediment colour associated with distinctly high or low scores.
