Results of a Soil Survey in the Blue Mountains, Jamaica
(More information on Request)
Underlying geology, as mapped and observed, consists mainly of northwesterly-striking
mafic-intermediate volcanics with calcareous and shaley intervals, although the soil Ni
and Cr content suggests the presence of an ultramafic unit also. Younging direction is unknown.
Topographic slopes are extremely steep (up to 40 degrees) to the northeast (Click thumbnails for larger maps).
